Job Description
Accountabilities:
  • Develop an understanding of Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) policies and adhere strictly to them.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Professionally receive all clients and residents.
  • Monitor access and security of the facility.
  • Maintain a calm, secure environment.
  • Conduct regular rounds and bed checks as per guidelines.
  • Record and communicate relevant information and incidents.
  • Enforce in-house rules and parole conditions.
  • File all documents according to policies.
  • Maintain medication logs and record maintenance needs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the intake office.
  • Attend staff meetings and training.
  • Perform light janitorial duties as needed.
  • Assist with CSC urinalysis program if required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Relationships & Responsibilities

Internal: Program Manager, staff, clients.

External: Community stakeholders.

Leadership & Management

Report to: Program Manager. No direct reports.

Working Conditions

Interact with high-risk offenders in a controlled environment.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary courses in related fields are assets.
  • Clear TB test, criminal record clearance, security clearance required.
  • First Aid Level 1 or equivalent, class 5 driver’s license, WHIMS certification are assets.
  • Completion of NHC training, including ARMATUS, required.
Experience & Skills
  • Experience with mental health issues and de-escalation techniques is an asset.
  • Attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work under pressure are essential.
Compensation

The salary range is $25.39 to $25.89, based on experience and qualifications.
