Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled physiotherapist to join our community health teams in the Burnaby area. You will provide assessments, treatments, and education to adult clients with diverse health needs, promoting independence at home and in community settings.

Requires graduation from an approved physiotherapy program, registration in BC, and two years of relevant experience. You will work in an interdisciplinary team with opportunities for growth, benefits, and a pension plan.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved school of Physiotherapy.
  • Two years of recent related clinical experience in community, geriatric or rehabilitation settings.
  • Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC; eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Physiotherapy.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides physiotherapy services through assessment and interventions to promote independence and safety.
  • Develops and monitors care plans with client-centered goals in collaboration with families and professionals.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care and teaches staff and students based on current standards.
  • Recommends equipment and adaptations to improve mobility and independence.
  • Delegates tasks to family or community health workers and monitors progress.
  • Acts as a resource on physiotherapy techniques for movement dysfunction; supports education and training.
  • Assists with student placements and supervises clinical placements as assigned.
  • Participates in quality improvement and risk management activities with management input.
