A local mentoring organization is seeking Community-Based Mentors to spend quality time with children or youth in a mentoring relationship. Mentors will engage in regular outings to build trust and provide support. This role requires a minimum commitment of one year and is designed for individuals or couples passionate about making a difference. Background checks and online training are prerequisites.
Community-Based Mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough
Spend time with a child or youth in a 1:1 mentoring relationship through regular outings and activities
The Community Based mentoring program provides children and youth with a role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers.
The Community Based mentoring program usually requires two regularly scheduled outings a month of a few hours each and a minimum of a one year commitment.
