The Speech Specialists are a highly experienced group of Speech Language Pathologists, Speech Language Associates, Behavioural Therapists, and Occupational Therapists that provide private in-home services for clients all across Southern Ontario. We provide individualized and comprehensive assessments as well as unique treatment programs for each of our clients. Job Description:

The Speech Specialists are looking for an energetic and creative Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) in Mississauga to provide speech therapy services under the guidance and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
This is a hybrid CDA position with 3 days in TDSB and TCDSB schools providing therapy to school-aged clients and 2 days in the Hamilton clinic providing therapy to private clients. The CDA will be required to provide therapy services based on assessed client goals, focusing on evidence-based practice, parent training, and client-centered services.

Duties & Responsibilities

CDA Duties:

  1. Provide therapy to clients of various ages (children, adults, and rehab patients) under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.
  2. Work with clients from different backgrounds and specialized populations.
  3. Collaborate and consult with SLP and other practitioners.
  4. Create and develop therapy materials as needed.
  5. Provide families with resources, information, and home programs.
  6. Assist with parent and client workshops.
  7. Participate in continuing education classes and workshops to remain current.
Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program.
  2. Member of CDAAC.
  3. Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum is preferred.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a MUST.
  5. Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
