Job description

Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for a Communications Specialist IV for their Toronto, ON/Remote location.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead communications plans and supporting collateral for initiatives impacting stakeholders.
  • Create clear, simplified messages and content to communicate with various stakeholders, including the C-Suite and Board of Directors, through visuals, written communications, and learning experiences.
  • Understand, synthesize, simplify, and concisely communicate complex ideas and concepts (e.g., technical or business-related).
  • Provide professional communications support, including executing and evaluating communication initiatives, programs, projects, and work plans.
  • Support functional managers and business partners by executing project plans and communication strategies.
  • Manage daily media reviews/analysis and news release processes where applicable.
  • Filter media inquiries, research issues, and manage news release schedules and approvals. Lead the creation of plans and solutions, incorporating research and team ideas, to address client issues and priorities.
  • Coordinate with business partners and third-party suppliers on content and design changes and approvals.
  • Implement project tasks and deliverables under the direction of the manager.
  • Research and filter internal/external communication and employee inquiries, supporting day-to-day communications review and approval.
  • Manage relationships with outside agencies, third-party service providers, and external representatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of projects and initiatives post-implementation, analyze feedback, and develop recommendations for future improvements.
  • Maintain project records, databases, and reports on project status and updates.
  • Understand the functions and requirements of supported products or business lines.
  • Support or manage the implementation of activities, policies, processes, and changes across multiple areas.
  • Drive the use of visual media such as videos, photography, digital features, and infographics to tell compelling client stories.
  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet service levels for quality and productivity.
  • Exercise discretion in managing confidential information and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Stay informed of industry practices and emerging trends relevant to the role.
  • Identify and manage risks, escalating high-risk activities as needed.
  • Conduct research projects and support the development and delivery of presentations and communications.
  • Perform reporting and analysis to assess program effectiveness and identify improvements.
  • Apply expertise in the discipline, provide guidance, and recommend best practices.
  • Adhere to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments and assess their impact.
  • Lead small projects or initiatives as a project lead or subject matter expert.

Requirements:
  • Self-starter, independent, able to collaborate and complete tasks promptly.
  • Experience in graphic design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong writing and editing skills to develop clear, simplified messages.
  • Ability to understand, synthesize, and communicate complex ideas concisely.
  • Experience working in technical and business contexts.
  • Experience in data management and/or data risk management.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Previous banking or client experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including working with senior stakeholders.
  • Combination of relevant education and experience.
