OVERVIEW

Ridley College is seeking a Communications Specialist for a contract position running from mid-August to mid-June. This junior-level role is ideal for a creative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to support a variety of projects. The successful candidate will help elevate Ridley’s brand and reputation by coordinating and delivering high-quality content that supports the Advancement team and the school’s strategic priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Draft and update email communications in a marketing CRM (e.g., Mailchimp); coordinate approvals and follow-ups;

·Write, edit, and update web content on Ridley’s main website and intranet;

·Design email templates, infographics, and prepare images for email and web use;

·Support digital marketing campaigns by creating and updating landing pages;

·Maintain a master calendar for email and website projects;

·Perform routine web maintenance to ensure content is accurate and up-to-date;

·Uphold Ridley’s messaging guide, style guide, and Canadian Press Style;

·Support content development for the biannual Tiger magazine;

·Liaise with vendors for print production, web changes, and promotional products;

·Assist with project, photo, video, and event coordination;

·Provide event coverage and capture photos as needed;

·Contribute to minor graphic design projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

·Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in English, communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field;

·1–3 years of experience in a marketing or communications role, agency, non-profit, or educational setting;

·Experience with marketing or communications software for email distribution;

·Strong project coordination skills and attention to detail;

·Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CMS platforms, CRM/email marketing tools, and Google Analytics;

·Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset;

·Demonstrated ability to write content aligned with a brand voice;

·Creative and solutions-oriented thinker;

·Willingness to learn and complete tasks by analyzing project briefings and asking questions.
