The Marketing Department at IGM Financial is currently accepting applications for the position of Communications Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications.

As part of the Corporate Communications and Community Engagement team, you will help develop and implement strategic communications for IG Wealth Management and use your superior writing skills to draft and edit content for internal (advisor-focused) audiences. You will also use your event and project management skills to effectively manage community campaigns and activations.

The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include:

Communications planning, consultation and execution

  • Support business team members to develop targeted, coordinated, creative communications plans that actively engage audiences and are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Anticipate communications needs and emerging issues, deliver proactive strategies and solutions that support business priorities and reputation.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen audience engagement through integrated communications strategies.
  • Create and manage approvals for a variety of communications materials, including articles, intranet content, speaking notes, video scripts, executive messaging, emails, presentation materials, social media posts, and web content.
  • Develop communications and marketing materials that promote community investment, employee engagement, sponsorship, and charitable giving initiatives.
  • Manage content delivery requirements, including translation, design, digital, multimedia, and production needs.
  • Ensure all communications maintain a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Assist with the layout and review process for daily communications cycle.
  • Monitor and collect communications analytics, and create analytics reports for management, as required.

Community engagement, campaigns and sponsorships

  • Support the planning and execution of national charitable campaigns, sponsorship initiatives, and community engagement programs.
  • Manage sponsorship activations, including branding, communications, social media, and event logistics.
  • Support relationships with charitable organizations, community partners, and stakeholder groups.

Project management, reporting and administration

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Support campaign and event execution from planning through post-campaign evaluation.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on communications, engagement, campaign, and community investment metrics.
  • Assist with budget tracking, invoice processing, reporting, and other program administration activities.
  • Collect and share insights and recommendations to continuously improve program effectiveness and stakeholder engagement.

The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:

  • 2-5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, marketing, community investment, or a related field. Experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience developing and executing communications campaigns for internal and external audiences.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively with business leaders, community partners, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management, event management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently, think strategically, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with data, reporting, and performance metrics to measure communications and engagement outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Analytics, and employee engagement or corporate giving platforms is considered an asset.
  • Passion for social impact, community engagement, and creating meaningful audience experiences.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $52,000 - 63,500, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
