Summit Search Group has been retained by Riverview Health Centre Foundation on the recruitment of their newest Communications Specialist. Riverview Health Centre Foundation (RHCF) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients, residents, families, and care partners who rely on the compassionate care provided by Riverview Health Centre. Through generous donations and community support, the Foundation funds essential programs, services, and capital projects that directly impact patient and resident comfort, dignity, and well-being. With a strong legacy of service and a commitment to future growth, RHCF plays a vital role in supporting specialized health care for Manitobans.

The Communications Specialist will play a key role in developing and delivering the Foundation’s communications strategy to strengthen donor engagement, community awareness, and fundraising success. In this role, you will collaborate with internal staff, volunteers, and external partners. This position is responsible for creating compelling content across multiple channels, ensuring consistent and effective messaging that reflects the Foundation’s mission and values. The role is both creative and hands-on, requiring the ability to bring the Foundation’s impact stories to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Riverview Health Centre staff, residents, patients, families, and care partners to gather stories, testimonials, and photos that showcase the impact of donor support. Attend RHC events to document and share these moments.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders on third-party fundraising events, providing guidance, communications support, and promotion to help maximize success.
  • Develop and write newsletters, stewardship emails, donor communications, and impact stories to highlight the Foundation’s mission and achievements.
  • Produce the Foundation’s annual report, coordinating content, design, and production to ensure professional and engaging presentation.
  • Manage the Foundation’s social media presence by creating content, graphics, and posts that foster engagement and raise awareness.
  • Capture photos and videos at events and activities to use in promotional materials and digital campaigns.
  • Support marketing and promotional efforts, including advertising initiatives and partnerships with media outlets such as radio and television.
  • Collaborate with the Foundation’s events contractor to support promotion, sponsorship recruitment, and the development of event-related communications and materials.
  • Create compelling proposals, impact reports, donor newsletters, donor materials (brochures).
  • Manage the Foundation’s Website and create community presentations when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Creative Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration.
  • 3+ Years experience in communications, digital media, or marketing roles (non-profit or fundraising is an asset).
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling tailored content.
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress, social media platforms, content creation tools, and basic graphic design.
