Job description

We're looking for a highly creative and strategic Communications Specialist to be the ultimate voice of Collective Arts and Botany. In this role, you will own our brand narrative across all written touchpoints, ensuring our story is told compellingly and consistently.

You will be the driving force behind our daily communications, taking ownership of copywriting, public relations, influencer and creator partnerships, email marketing, and social media community building. Working closely with the Brand Management and Design teams, you will turn campaign concepts into engaging content that resonates with our audience, drives brand awareness, and builds a fiercely loyal community.

A Typical Day as a Communications Specialist Includes:
Copywriting & Content Creation
  • Serving as the primary copywriter and guardian of the brand voice across Collective Arts and Botany.
  • Writing compelling, punchy, and on-brand copy for a variety of mediums, including social media captions, website landing pages, blog posts, digital ads, and product descriptions.
  • Collaborating with the design and brand teams to conceptualize and script engaging video content and short-form media.
Public Relations & Influencer Management
  • Leading day‑to‑day PR efforts, including drafting press releases, building media lists, and pitching stories to lifestyle, beverage, and local media outlets.
  • Identifying, vetting, and building authentic relationships with influencers, brand ambassadors, and content creators who align with our brand values.
  • Managing influencer campaigns from end‑to‑end: reaching out, negotiating deliverables, sending product/PR packages, and tracking performance.
  • Fielding incoming media and partnership inquiries.
Social Media & Community Management
  • Collaborating with the Junior Brand Manager to execute the master social media content calendar.
  • Taking the lead on community management: actively engaging with our followers, responding to comments and DMs, and fostering a positive, interactive online community.
  • Monitoring social media trends, cultural moments, and platform updates to ensure our content remains relevant and native to platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
Email Marketing
  • Owning the email marketing strategy and execution for our D2C (Direct‑to‑Consumer) and community newsletters.
  • Designing, building, and deploying email campaigns, ensuring visually appealing layouts and compelling subject lines.
  • Segmenting audiences and analyzing email performance metrics (open rates, click‑through rates) to continuously optimize our strategy.
How your time will be organized:
  • Copywriting & Content (30%): Crafting the brand voice across all digital, print, and campaign touchpoints.
  • PR & Influencer Relations (30%): Pitching media, managing press moments, and scaling our influencer/creator ambassador programs.
  • Email Marketing (20%): End‑to‑end management of brand newsletters, promotional emails, and subscriber growth.
  • Social Media & Community (20%): Engaging with our online audience, writing social copy, and keeping our finger on the pulse of digital trends.
We are looking for people who have/are:
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in communications, PR, copywriting, or digital marketing. Experience in the CPG, beverage, lifestyle, or arts sectors is a major plus.
  • Master Wordsmith: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. You can easily adapt your tone from informative and polished to witty and rebellious, depending on the context.
  • PR & Creator Savvy: Proven experience working with media outlets and managing influencer or creator relationships.
  • Email Platform Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp) and a basic understanding of email metrics.
  • Social Native: Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms, with a knack for fostering community engagement.
  • Self‑Starter: Highly proactive and organized, able to manage multiple deadlines and pivot quickly in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
  • Logistical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between our locations and off‑site events.
