What is the opportunity:

Join Energy Safety Canada as a Communications Specialist, where you will lead the development and review of all external communications. Your main duties include creating and refining content for resources, presentations, email marketing, blog posts, and social media. You will be instrumental in crafting engaging narratives that enhance our brand and reach a wide audience. This role demands a creative thinker with excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

What will you do:

  1. Content development and review lead for all external material including resources, presentations, email marketing, blog posts, social media and other written communications.
  2. Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing and communications activities, ensuring successful implementation of timelines and budgets.
  3. Supports coordination and development of marketing and communications materials with vendors.
  4. Supports live and online events including speaking engagements, conferences, webinars, trade fairs, career fairs, etc.
  5. Coordinates media requests, leads development of news releases and briefing notes, and maintains regular media monitoring. Builds relationships and contacts with relevant print, broadcasting, and online journalists.
  6. Other duties as required.

What you need to succeed:

  1. Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  2. 7+ years of related experience in marketing and/or communications.
  3. In-depth understanding of the Canadian Press Stylebook guidelines and proficiency in ensuring all written content adheres to CP Style standards.
  4. Skilled in creating compelling presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint, including the use of advanced features like animations, transitions, and custom layouts.
  5. Strong Microsoft Word knowledge for document creation, formatting, and editing, including the use of templates, styles, and reviewing tools.
  6. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for editing visual content.
  7. Exemplary interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working across teams.
  8. Enjoys the challenges of working in a deadline-driven environment.
  9. Exceptional ability in crafting clear and engaging content.
  10. Proven experience in writing and editing a variety of documents, such as reports, presentations, and promotional materials.
  11. Ability to adapt writing style to suit different audiences and purposes.
