Description :

The University Registrar’s Office (URO) provides institutional leadership on student financial aid & awards, student accounts, client services & records, student systems, academic scheduling, accommodated testing services, classroom planning & technology, and convocation. As part of the Vice-Provost, Strategic Enrolment Management (VPSEM), the URO supports a student-centric approach to enrolment activities, engaging divisional leaders and implementing transformations aligned with institutional and divisional goals for all students across the student life cycle.

The Office of Convocation & Communications manages tri-campus activities related to convocation and student communications, supporting divisional goals.

Your opportunity :

Reporting to the Director, Convocation & Communication, the Communications Officer will implement web and digital communication strategies for students at the University of Toronto.

The role involves developing and maintaining student-focused websites and digital content, analyzing website data, assisting with surveys and reports, managing CRM email campaigns, and creating engaging digital assets to enhance the student experience.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Building, testing, and maintaining websites
  • Writing and editing digital communications
  • Ensuring digital assets meet brand and accessibility standards
  • Tracking and reporting on digital activities
  • Troubleshooting technical issues
  • Supporting staff with digital communications
  • Researching and recommending new digital strategies

Essential Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in website design, marketing/communications, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least four (4) years’ experience in website development, UX design, or digital communications
  • Experience with responsive and accessible websites
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Excellent research, writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CMS (WordPress), Adobe Creative Suite, analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tableau), CRM (Slate, Mailchimp), and social media platforms
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage projects, learn new technologies, and stay updated on best practices
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to work independently and in teams

Assets (Nonessential) :
