Job description

Are you passionate about politics? Are you interested in using your talents to support our elected officials? If so – we have the full-time opportunity for you. The Nova Scotia PC Caucus Office is seeking a Communications Officer with a background in Digital Communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of communications activities and will join a team of motivated individuals responsible for implementing the communication strategy of the PC Caucus Office as it relates to social media, digital media and written communications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comms support to promote elected Caucus member objectives.
  • Develop and implement social media, web, and digital media content
  • Producing digital content for MLA use, ensuring consistency of messaging between various audiences, and representing the Caucus’s interest.
  • Writing and editing a variety of communications, such as social media content, web content, articles, video scripts, and press releases.
  • Participate in developing strategy to amplify key government priorities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Communications or Digital Marketing. A combination of education and years of related experience may be considered.
  • Must be able to produce graphics for social media and events.
  • Experience in videography, video production and editing would be considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and changes in priorities.
  • Must be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Graphic Design and Content Creation experience would be considered an asset.
