    Summit Search Group has been retained HEB Manitoba on the recruitment of their next Communications Manager. HEB Manitoba (Healthcare Employees’ Benefit Plans) is a non-profit, member-focused organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and cost-effective benefit plans to eligible employees and their families in Manitoba’s healthcare sector. Their membership spans a wide range of healthcare organizations, including regional health authorities, hospitals, personal care homes, and other health-related employers.     The Communications Manager is a key member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Services. This role is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of all internal and external communication initiatives that promote HEB Manitoba’s corporate identity, values, and mission. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with business leaders to ensure clear, consistent, and effective messaging across all channels, and will lead a team of communication specialists in delivering high-quality, stakeholder-focused content. The Communications Manager will play a vital role in engaging stakeholders, supporting organizational change, and enhancing employee and member communication. This position requires a forward-thinking professional with proven experience in strategic communications, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement within complex and dynamic environments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the planning, development, and delivery of corporate communication strategies that align with HEB Manitoba’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to support initiatives that ensure consistent, accurate messaging across multiple channels for diverse stakeholder groups.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of communications specialists, fostering a culture of learning, development, and excellence.
    • Direct change management communications related to major initiatives, ensuring clarity and alignment during organizational transformation.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and refine communication strategies using analytics and feedback to enhance stakeholder engagement and effectiveness.
    • Oversee internal communication initiatives that support employee engagement and foster a positive organizational culture.
    • Prepare and manage departmental budgets and provide regular performance reports to the Vice President and senior leadership.

    Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic communications, with a strong track record in multi-channel stakeholder engagement.
    • 3+ years of experience managing a team of communication professionals.
    • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; accreditation or membership in a relevant professional association is an asset.
    • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and coaching skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
