Communications Coordinator

Compensation: $57,464 / year

Description

Purpose / Overview:

Coordinate the development and implementation of communication and marketing strategies to promote CRCNA in Canada.

Develop and execute effective communication and marketing plans that highlight CRCNA initiatives and their contribution to the gospel message. Focus on increasing recognition of Canadian Justice Ministries among CRC members and collaborating with Resonate, Reframe, Thrive, the Canadian Ministry Board, and the Office of the General Secretary.

This position offers a flexible work schedule, an attractive benefits package (including Group RRSP), and starts with three weeks of vacation.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with CRCNA leadership to monitor trends, evaluate impact, and direct future communications strategies specific to Canada to strengthen brand identity.
  • Develop, implement, and assess an annual communications plan and marketing strategy aligned with CRCNA standards and practices.
  • Support the three Justice & Reconciliation ministries in Canada (Indigenous Ministry, Intercultural Ministry, and the Centre for Public Dialogue), including editorial oversight of the Do Justice blog and podcast.
  • Gather, edit, and publish video and news content from Canadian congregations and classes to showcase their work and inspire others.
  • Coordinate with CRCNA Canadian Advancement staff to ensure communications support development strategies.
  • Participate in monthly Communications Council meetings, collaborate with other communicators, and contribute content for cross-initiative sharing.
  • Manage databases and feedback systems (metrics/analytics) for Canadian communications.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

May supervise interns, short-term or contract staff, and other team members as needed.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Support the mission, vision, and values of CRCNA.
  • Knowledge of CRCNA in Canada, including its history, ministries, and governance.
  • Proficiency with web tools, social media marketing, and design principles.
  • Experience in video production and publication.
  • Strong writing, communication, and editing skills, with sensitivity to diverse CRC audiences.
  • Proven planning and budget management abilities.
  • Passion for justice and reconciliation issues from a Christian perspective, with a focus on elevating marginalized voices.
  • Collaborative team player willing to learn and be accountable.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, theology, or related fields.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience or equivalent internships in similar roles.
Physical Demands

Primarily desk-based; capable of traveling by car and air as needed. Those with mobility challenges but able to travel are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment

Hybrid/in-office setting with travel flexibility of up to three days per month.
