About Touchstone Institute

Touchstone Institute is the largest assessment centre of its kind in Canada, providing professional competency assessment and learning programs to support high-quality healthcare delivery.

As a non-profit governed by a Board of Directors, Touchstone Institute receives funding from the Government of Ontario and generates revenue through business contracts for competency assessment and learning solutions. The organization is expanding its impact in health human resources and strengthening healthcare professionals' practices. Nearly 50 full-time staff contribute to assessments, simulation-based education, and ongoing learning to ensure practitioners and institutions deliver safe, consistent, high-quality care.

Building on its history of facilitating entry to training or practice for internationally educated health professionals, Touchstone Institute aims to support excellence in competent practice for all healthcare providers.

We are seeking a communications consultant to provide strategic support in establishing and strengthening our communications portfolio throughout this year.

Scope of Work:

Reporting to the CEO or designate, the successful vendor will:

  • Develop structured processes with leads across Communications, Engagement, and People & Culture.
  • Create a streamlined workflow for recurring communications.
  • Define documentation protocols for campaign planning, approvals, and reporting.

Executive Team Public Relations Support:

  • Plan communication activities.
  • Draft a calendar for engagements and speaking opportunities.
  • Oversee content creation.

Lead the creation of a communications campaign (first draft by September 2025), including:

  • Creative concept and messaging.
  • Planning and supporting the production of milestone videos and impact stories.
  • Event planning with a full implementation timeline.
  • Cross-platform promotion.

Commitment:

The vendor will work up to 20 hours per week, at least 4 days a week, attending the office weekly on Tuesdays and occasionally Wednesdays, with other days virtual.

Contract Term:

From August 2025 to December 2025, with potential extension up to 8 hours per week through March 31, 2026, based on organizational needs.
