Job summary

StrategyCorp Toronto is looking for Communications Associate to join our growing team in Toronto. Our ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a communications role, with an undergraduate degree and a passion for strategic messaging.

You will support campaigns, shape messaging, and help deliver client-focused communications programs in a fast-paced consulting environment. We offer a hybrid work environment, career development, health benefits, vacation, parental leave top-up, and a collaborative team

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of work experience in a communications role; agency experience is preferred
• Undergraduate degree in communications or related field
• Experience supporting the development and execution of strategic communications plans involving owned, earned, shared, and paid media
• Experience coordinating deliverables and meeting internal and external deadlines
• Proven understanding of the Canadian news media landscape, including print, broadcast, and digital outlets
• Experience using shared media platforms, including Instagram, X, and TikTok, as part of communications strategies

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Title: Associate, Communications

Our ideal candidate has a passion for communications and enjoys delving into complex issues that require strategic thinking, and problem solving. In addition, has a good understanding of communications tools and best practices and is looking to grow their career in a fast-paced consulting environment.

As part of the Communications team, you will play an active role in supporting the development and execution of strategic communications campaigns for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will help shape messaging, manage elements of communications programs, and contribute to strategic advice provided to clients.

KEY EXPERIENCE:

• 1–2 years of work experience in a communications role; agency experience is preferred
• Undergraduate degree
• Experience supporting the development and execution of strategic communications plans involving owned, earned, shared, and paid media
• Experience supporting projects, coordinating deliverables, and ensuring internal and external deadlines are met
• Proven understanding of the Canadian news media landscape, including print, broadcast, and digital outlets
• Experience using shared media platforms, including Instagram, X, and TikTok, as part of communications strategies

CORE COMPETENCIES:

• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with superior attention to detail and the ability to translate complex subjects and issues into clear, concise materials tailored to specific audiences
• Strong critical and strategic thinking skills, with an aptitude for problem solving
• Professional client service skills, including the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to organize work, coordinate projects, set priorities, and manage multiple assignments with appropriate support
• Proven ability to take initiative and exercise sound, independent judgment
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly under tight deadlines and pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of how owned, earned, shared, and paid media channels can be used to support communications objectives
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

ASSETS:
