Job description

Position Title: Communications Assistant

Hours: Summer position (8-week contract, 35 hours per week, $20/hour)

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in Canada
  • Must be between the ages of 15-30

Summary of Position:

The Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto (MCC Toronto) is currently seeking a Communications Assistant who will help manage our social media presence and create engaging, high-quality video content that resonates with our audience. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical skills, and a keen understanding of digital marketing trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation: Assist in creating engaging and relevant content for MCC Toronto’s social media platforms, websites, newsletters, and other communication channels.
  2. Social Media Management: Help manage and maintain MCC Toronto’s social media presence, including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages.
  3. Graphic Design: Support the design and creation of visual assets, including graphics, banners, and promotional materials for events, programs, and campaigns.
  4. Event Support: Provide support during events, including live social media coverage, photography, and videography.
  5. Administrative Tasks: Assist with general administrative tasks, such as maintaining communication databases, organizing files, and managing communication schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in social media management and content creation.
  • Strong video editing skills with proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, or other editing software.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail and a passion for digital media.
