Job description

Job Title: Communications & Community Impact Manager

The Communications & Community Impact Manager leads Paraquad’s external and internal communications responsibilities, strengthening the organization’s visibility, public voice, and connection to the community. This position plays a critical role in promoting Paraquad’s mission, programs, and outcomes, while ensuring consistent, engaging, and accessible messaging across all platforms. This role also oversees community engagement efforts that deepen relationships, amplify impact, and enhance the organization’s presence across the region.

Core Responsibilities
•Draft and execute annual marketing, communications, and public relations plans to support revenue growth and to increase visibility/awareness for organization, including a clear plan for regularly scheduled posts on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
•Partner with various other departments to strategize and to support their marketing and communication needs.
•Manage production and creation of photo and video content to showcase Paraquad.
•Manage relationships with key print and production vendors. Effectively manage department budgets when working with vendors.
•Ensure consistent communication of Paraquad’s desired image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.
•Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that advances Paraquad’s mission, values, and brand.
•Craft compelling messaging for campaigns, events, public relations, and strategic initiatives.
•Serve as organization’s media liaison; write press releases, op-eds, and statements; coordinate interviews and media opportunities.

Content & Brand Management
•Manage brand identity and ensure consistent tone and visual representation across all print and digital materials.
•Oversee the creation and distribution of newsletters, email campaigns, annual reports, blogs, and marketing collateral.
•Direct content for social media platforms, website updates, and digital storytelling efforts that reflect program impact and client experiences.

Community Engagement & Impact
•Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, partner organizations, and advocates to extend Paraquad’s reach and relevance, management of PQ’s community outreach initiatives.
•Lead outreach strategies that promote programs, increase participation, and elevate client and community voices.
•Manage storytelling initiatives that demonstrate the real-world outcomes of Paraquad’s work.

Internal Relations & Collaboration
•Collaborate with Development, Programs, and Leadership teams to ensure messaging consistency and mission alignment.
•Provide communications support for fundraising, volunteer engagement, and donor relations initiatives.
•Develop and manage internal communications materials including flyers, fact sheets, envelopes, letterhead, and branded templates.
•Assist executive leadership with speech writing, talking points, presentations, and other communication needs.

Team & Project Leadership
•Supervise communications staff, contractors, interns, and vendors as needed.
•Lead the response for any crisis communications and reputation management issues.
•Track and evaluate communications performance through data, analytics, and user engagement insights; adjust strategies accordingly.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
•5+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit communications, community engagement, or related roles.
•Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
•Strong project management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
•Experience with media relations, content creation, and brand development.
•Proficiency in design and digital tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, social media platforms, etc.).
•Passion for advancing disability rights and inclusion.
