Job description

We are hiring a Communications Specialist to focus on internal learning and development documents and program and internal communications such as updated procedures, intranet and general employee updates. Part of the HR team, the ideal Communication Specialist will have experience producing training content, general communications and updating policies. Work samples and/or portfolio will be requested.

About Our Client
Our client is a large North American building materials company. It supplies a variety of products to the construction and renovation sectors. The company operates multiple facilities across Canada and the U.S.

About The Opportunity
The Communications Specialist will focus on developing training content, internal communications, updating HR policies and putting systems to paper. We are looking for someone who can observe systems and procedures and translate those to training materials; this role is NOT implementing systems, or procedures but recording existing practices.

About The Position
Manages all internal communications related to employee information.
Updates and maintains intranet.
Observes systems and procedures and develops written training materials.
Updates HR polices, procedures and training materials.
Ensures all employee training, certificates and certifications are uploaded.

The Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in a corporate communications position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related.
  • Proven ability to communicate to a diverse audience.
  • Must have strong business writing abilities.
  • Prior experience producing learning and development and training materials is required.
  • Experience managing internal corporate communications is required.
  • Must be able to provide work samples and/or portfolio.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range $65,000 – $82,000.
