Ilisaqsivik is a not-for-profit Inuit organization and charity located in Clyde River, Nunavut. We focus on building community wellness through our programs, services, and our resource centre. Ilisaqsivik has been operating for over 25 years and is governed by a community Board of Directors. Our programs and services are led and delivered by Inuit, in Inuktitut.
Ilisaqsivik's programs are wide-ranging and often unprecedented. Everything from building our community's library to a school breakfast program, from an Inuit counsellor training program based on Inuit knowledge, language and values, to a Heritage and Research Centre, to the creation of a social enterprise which includes two hotels. All of our work has a common thread — empowering and increasing wellbeing of Inuit.
We are seeking a Part-time Communications Coordinator reporting to the Executive Director to help tell our stories, strengthen our public presence, share our impact, and support communications across our organization. This is an incommunity or remote position working closely with our team and community partners in Nunavut.
The Communications Coordinator will support the development and delivery of communications that are clear, engaging, accurate, impactful, and aligned with our organization's mission and values.
You will work closely with staff and leadership to develop content for digital channels, newsletters, reports, campaigns, media materials, and other communications. You will also help ensure that the voices and perspectives of Inuit staff, community members, partners, and program participants are represented respectfully and authentically.
This position may be based in the community or fully remote, with regular virtual collaboration with staff, leadership, and community partners. Occasional travel to Nunavut may be required.
We know applying to a job takes time and we thank all candidates for their interest. While we are not able to get back to every candidate, we will ensure shortlisted applicants who are selected for further consideration are aware of their status and will do our best to provide feedback if that can be helpful.
