Position : Communication Audit Consultant

Location : British Columbia

Pay Rate : $50 - $75 per hour

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Morning Shift)

About the Role :

We are seeking a talented and motivated Communication Audit Consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of our Communications & Civic Engagement Services. This is a unique opportunity to engage with various stakeholders, assess existing workflows, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, alongside a passion for enhancing communication effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Communications Audit :
  • Conduct a thorough review of our department’s materials, processes, roles, and service delivery.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and decision-making processes for effectiveness.
  • Identify overlaps, gaps, and inefficiencies in communication planning and execution.
  • Offer actionable recommendations to improve efficiency and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Internal Process Review :
    • Identify redundancies affecting timely information flow within and across departments.
    • Assess workflows and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.
    • Conduct interviews with key staff to understand service expectations and pain points.
    • Recommend strategies for streamlining internal processes.
    • Gather feedback from key stakeholders on communication needs and gaps.
    • Define clear service expectations for Council support.
    • Propose structured processes for responding to Council requests.
    • Review social media channels for engagement, reach, and effectiveness.
    • Determine the value of each platform in achieving communication goals.
    • Recommend strategic purposes for each channel to maximize impact.
  • Community Engagement & External Feedback :
    • Develop strategies to gather public input on communications.
    • Analyze community expectations for communication channels and messaging.
  • Defining Brand Attributes :
    • Analyze feedback from staff and stakeholders to pinpoint key brand attributes.
    • Define the communications tone, voice, and identity for the organization.
    • Provide a framework for integrating these attributes into all communications.
  • Final Deliverables :
    • Deliver a concise summary report with findings and recommendations.
    • Create an implementation roadmap for optimizing communications functions.
    • Present key findings and proposed next steps to leadership.

    Qualifications :

    • Proven experience in communications, organizational development, or a similar field.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience conducting audits or assessments.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Experience in social media strategy is a plus.
