Base pay range

CA$86,904.00/yr - CA$108,632.00/yr

The Peel District School Board (PDSB) is a diverse organization serving approximately 148,000 students and 17,000+ employees. Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing, you will oversee procurement of goods and services within an assigned commodity portfolio. Your responsibilities include leading strategic sourcing, managing supplier relationships, executing purchasing documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Commodity Management: Develop procurement strategies, monitor activities, and improve supply chain performance.
  2. Competitive Bidding: Manage the bidding process, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts.
  3. Contract Management: Oversee contract lifecycle, ensure compliance, and resolve disputes.
  4. Customer Service: Approve purchase orders, liaise with internal clients and vendors, and provide procurement guidance.
  5. Leadership and Supervision: Supervise administrative staff, provide guidance, and develop team capacity.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in business, commerce, supply chain management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or working towards it.
  • 3-5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in educational or public sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with purchasing systems.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to diversity and working in a multicultural environment.
Additional Skills & Assets
  • Experience with e-tendering, maintenance, and construction procurement.
  • Knowledge of Construction Act, BPS Directives, CETA, and CFTA.

Preference for qualified members of the Administrative Staff Group (ASG).

Additional Information

Position is mid-senior level, full-time, in the education industry, located in the Greater Toronto Area. Salary range is CA$88,500 - CA$115,100.
