Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Key Commodity Manager to join our team. This pivotal role involves developing strategic supplier relationships, gaining access to critical industry and parts information, and serving as a key point of contact for assigned parts and manufacturers. The successful candidate will leverage their deep knowledge of the industry and assigned commodities to provide actionable insights, offers, and support to Sales and Sourcing.
Strategic Supplier Engagement
- Maintain a deep understanding of the full supply base
- Establish & nurture relationships with strategic suppliers
- Drive collaboration and negotiate with key suppliers to gain access to supply and favorable pricing along with industry and product insights.
Market Intelligence
- Promote Rand’s presence in A-commodities to customers, including in-field engagement.
- Identify and pursue deal opportunities during customer visits.
- Gather and share detailed information on parts availability, costs, and market pricing to Sales, Sourcing, and other stakeholders
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned parts and manufacturers in APAC and on a general basis globally
Identify and Drive Proactive Sales Opportunities
- Analyze parts availability and pricing against historical customer demand and BOMs then provide Sales with proactive opportunities (daily / weekly).
- Support execution of the deals by working closely with Buyers / Purchasing.
- Offer guidance on customer pricing strategies to Sales.
- Drive continuous sales growth Q/Q for key suppliers
Market Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of weekly and monthly market reports for assigned products and manufacturers.
- Monitor industry developments to inform internal decision-making.
Operational Guidance
- Collaborate with Sales and Sourcing teams to optimize deals, advising on purchase and sale pricing.
- Act as a key advisor on market dynamics and supplier opportunities in coordination with Global Commodity Management, Sourcing Management, and Sales.
- Support Purchasing through guidance and coordination with Purchasing team members and may place PO’s from time to time on key deals and/or as needed based on team capacity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the electronic components industry.
- Proven expertise and relationships with suppliers and franchise distributors for assigned commodities.
- In-depth knowledge of parts and manufacturers, including but not limited to Samsung, Hynix, Micron, Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and others.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to synthesize market information into actionable strategies, market reports, and internal training materials.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required to support effective communication in a global context.
- Based in Singapore or the Shenzhen or Shanghai area of China.
