Description:
Allnorth is seeking skilled Commissioning Electrician Lead to join our commissioning team on a project for a large industrial electrical construction project in Regina Saskatchewan.
This role involves:
- The Commissioning Instrumentation & Electrical (E&I) Lead will develop the E&I commissioning strategy, execution plan and required procedures to safeguard the integrity of personnel, assets, and the environment.
- Ensures alignment with Project, Engineering design, construction/fabrication, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, and start-up strategies.
- Collaborates with Project, Engineering, Construction, Quality, Procurement and Operations to ensure a successful, safe startup of the facility over the full spectrum of the project from initial Project stage to final Operations stabilization.
- Be an active part of an integrated field leadership team; planning, managing, and preparing equipment and systems for first time start-up.
- Develops daily progress reports for the CSU Coordinator.
- Understands the Completions process, identifies system scoping requirements and priorities. Understands and participates in the Inspections, System Walkdowns, Punchlist and Mitigation Plan, and manages the Test Records and documentation process as required under the CMS Plan.
- Within the E&I scope, assists with review/edits of Commissioning Plans, Procedures and Strategy under the direction of the CSU Manager.
- Able to understand detailed Vendor settings, P&ID’s, Isometric, SLD’s, detailed electrical and instrument drawings and manuals, Loop Diagrams, and converse with various disciplines, tracking any red-line changes.
- Identify, schedule, and manage vendors and contractor needs while on-site, and monitor progress.
- Ensures proper CSU documentation is collected, filed, and archived according to standard practice. Participates in FAT and SAT testing, documenting deficiencies.
- Coordinates & executes commissioning/testing and energization activities in accordance with the Commissioning Execution Plan and team directives. Understands electrical equipment testing, monitoring, programming, validation, and tracking. Understands Cause & Effect validation, Control Narrative redlining, vendor data validation and testing parameters.
- Gains understanding and proactively learns new technology and a wide array of plant systems including electrical, piping, mechanical, controls, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Acts as the Electrical subject matter expert and mentor to the Project Team, as Commissioning and Startup activities progress. Shares CSU experience, opinions, and knowledge. Teaches and mentors less experienced members of the team.
- Directs E&I “Tiger Team” to mitigate deficiencies.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- 10 years’ work experience; 5 years leading commissioning and start-up activities of electrical, instrumentation and automated electrical/mechanical equipment and process control systems.
- Experience in Commissioning & Startup of Electrical/Instrumentation equipment in the industrial gas, power generation, and chemical facilities, cryogenic technologies, air separation, syngas, and Co2 capture preferred.
- Strong Electrical background in power generation, protection relay testing, interlock verification, VFD’s, transformer testing, high voltage substation energization, and EHT. High level of understanding of automated equipment commissioning
