Job Description

Under the direction of the Commissary Manager, the Commissary Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the commissary operations at the jail to ensure each location receives the correct products.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Supervises the receiving, tagging, pricing, and storing of all incoming merchandise.
  2. Assigns daily tasks to Gift Commissary staff and ensures that the tasks are performed correctly and in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  3. Coordinates the movement of incoming merchandise to retail office, storage areas, and/or display floors.
  4. Cashiers when necessary to expedite the processing of guest purchases.
  5. Orchestrates special projects (e.g., holidays, events, book signings) when necessary.
  6. Communicates information to team members on new products or procedures using the information book on the floor.
  7. Works with the General Manager and Commissary Manager to take inventory and optimize productivity on the floor.
  8. Maintains a full understanding of the point-of-sale system.
  9. Assists all guests in any possible way.
  10. Trains new hires on the POS system, safety procedures, and job responsibilities.
  11. Follows, implements, and follows up on all emergency procedures.

Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in a similar employment environment or equivalent.

Physical Demands

This role may involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
