Northbridge Insurance is seeking an Underwriting Specialist for Commercial Construction & Manufacturing (New Business). The role focuses on underwriting and servicing complex accounts within established guidelines, while building strong broker relationships and supporting team development.

With a collaborative team approach, you will mentor juniors, pursue CIP/FCIP growth, and contribute to a flexible hybrid work model and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial underwriting, especially Construction & Manufacturing (New Business).
• Strong customer service background and relationship building with brokers/customers.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor junior underwriters.

Northbridge Underwriting Specialist customize solutions for our commercial clients when they need insurance product. They work closely with our extensive broker network to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk while being responsible for servicing increasing complex accounts in accordance with existing guidelines and business objectives.

The Underwriting Specialist is responsible for underwriting and servicing increasingly complex accounts in accordance with established guidelines and business objectives in the achievement of national standards for data quality and service level agreements. Our Underwriting Specialists are experts in their field and passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our brokers – this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and in-person broker meetings are regularly penned into their calendars. Working in a collaborative team, there is the opportunity to coach and mentor junior colleagues and further develop your skills from our more experienced underwriters to help grow your appetite of complex risks.

If you are great at:

• Commercial Underwriting, Construction & Manufacturing (New Business)
• Sales and negotiations
• Solutions orientated
• Developing and maintaining professional relationship with brokers and/or customers
• Coaching and mentoring more junior underwriters on team

If you have:

• 5 to 10 years of Commercial Underwriting experience, Construction & Manufacturing (New Business)
• Completed, or pursuing your CIP or FCIP (an asset)
• Strong customer service background
• Team-first mentality
