What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and support a team of commercial underwriters to ensure strong performance, development, and retention.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Actuarial, Claims, Compliance) to develop tailored underwriting strategies.
- Guide and contribute to the assessment, pricing, and negotiation of risks across Property, Casualty, and Auto lines.
- Oversee underwriting quality, documentation, and adherence to guidelines and service standards.
- Collaborate closely with brokers to deliver customized insurance solutions and maintain strong business relationships.
- Contribute to process improvement, training initiatives, and change management efforts across the department.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of commercial property & casualty underwriting experience (mid-market focus; construction knowledge is a strong asset).
- Minimum 3 years of team leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
- Level 2 license; completion of, or progress toward, CIP/FCIP/RPLU or equivalent designations.
- Proven ability to manage broker relationships with professionalism and responsiveness.
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to lead change and build a culture of continuous improvement.
