Job summary

Superior Propane, Canada’s leading propane provider, seeks a Commercial Sales Representative to grow new accounts in the Calgary/Edmonton region. You will prospect, present solutions, build relationships, and own the sales cycle to meet targets while collaborating with leadership and regional teams.

You must have 5–10 years oilfield sales experience, strong communication, and a drive to develop new business. Travel up to 2–3 nights per month is required; English proficiency is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Commercial Sales Manager to develop and execute sales plans to meet targets.
  • Prospect, research and identify new business opportunities.
  • Lead the sales cycle and act as the customer’s main contact and resource.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals, negotiate terms and close deals.
  • Coordinate with Regional Leadership to meet customer needs.
  • Report on KPIs and sales progress within the funnel.
  • Own accounts from prospecting to ongoing management.
  • Represent Superior Propane positively within the community.

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for building new customer accounts for Superior Propane. Working within a defined Territory and/or Line-of-Business, the Commercial Sales Representative will market and sell Superior Propane products and services to new customers to successfully achieve predefined sales goals and objectives.

The successful candidate can be based in Calgary or Edmonton.

What you’ll do:
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Manager to develop, recommend and execute a sales plan that leverages national and regional programs and resources to consistently meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Prospect, research and identify new business opportunities and work the sales plan to create awareness, discover customer needs and deliver product and service solutions.
  • Initiate and lead the sales cycle/process as a subject matter expert and act as the customer’s key contact and resource. Build strong business relationships with prospective customers and manage the sales funnel/cycle by continually following up on their current business needs and anticipating future business needs.
  • Prepare and confidently present sales proposals, including pricing and product/service terms, to key decision makers. Influence, negotiate and close the sale with the best interest of the company and the customer in mind.
  • Collaborate with and engage the Regional Leadership Team to ensure the needs of the customer can be and will be met.
  • Communicate regularly and prepare reports on key performance indicators and communication on sales progress within the sales funnel/cycle and achievements. Intimately know customer base and area activity and utilize information and data to capitalize on sales opportunities and recommend sales strategies.
  • Resolve any issues as they arise and involve subject matter experts and key decision makers as needed to remove obstacles.
  • Own the account from prospecting through to ongoing account management.
  • Promote and represent Superior Propane positively and professionally within the community and industry to all customers, competitors and industry associates.
What you bring:
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years oilfield sales experience, with proven sales growth record

  • Knowledge of the propane industry and/or oil & gas industry an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to travel for 2-3 nights per month.
  • English proficiency is required.
Salary:

The expected annual base salary for this role is $65,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a monthly commission plan.

Eligible employees may earn performance-based incentives and have access to comprehensive benefits and retirement plans with matching contributions.
