Job summary

CBRE is seeking a skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to service multiple sites, maintaining and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems. You will work with preventive maintenance and responsive repairs, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards while prioritizing reliability and performance of critical infrastructure.

• Journeyman Certificate or recognized equivalent with 4–5 years related experience.
• Experience with CO2 commercial refrigeration systems preferred.
• Gas Technician (G1) and/or Gasfitter A certification is expected.
• ODP Certificate (Ozone Depletion) and valid driving license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and meet physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain, heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, commercial refrigeration systems and calibrate instruments, gauges, and control components.
• Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
• Troubleshoot difficult equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
• Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
• Impact the quality of own work.
• Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
• Performs assigned day‑to‑day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repairs records as required.
• Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks and maintain good inventory of parts in service vehicle. Utilizes CMMS to manage work orders and track completion.
• Responsible for the preventative maintenance and corrective repairs of HVAC equipment, air handling units (AHUs), dehumidification units, heating, and cooling system (boiler, chiller, and cooling tower) and commercial refrigeration equipment or rack refrigeration system including refrigerated cooler and freezer, walk in coolers and freezers and self-contained refrigerated units.
• Oversees and inspects the work performed by third party vendors.

Ce Dont Vous Avez Besoin

• Mécanicien en système de réfrigération et de climatisation – Le candidat doit posséder un certificat d’apprenti ou un diplôme de métier reconnu d’une autre province ou d’un autre territoire canadien (313A ou programme du Sceau rouge) ainsi que 4 à 5 ans d’expérience connexe.
• Expérience avec les systèmes de réfrigération commerciale au CO2 de préférence.
• Technicien en gaz (G1), monteur d’installations en gaz A (classe A).
• Certificat en prévention de l’appauvrissement de la couche d’ozone.
• Permis de conduire valide.
• Être en mesure de répondre aux exigences physiques de ce poste, notamment pouvoir se pencher, se tenir debout, monter des marches/échelles, et lever/transporter des charges lourdes de 50 lb ou plus.
• Capacité à utiliser les procédures existantes pour résoudre les problèmes standard.
• Expérience en analyse de l’information et des pratiques standard pour faire un jugement.
• Une excellente connaissance des produits de Microsoft Office, par exemple, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Aptitudes organisationnelles et esprit curieux.

What You’ll Need

• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic – the individual must possess a Journeyman Certificate or Individuals holding a recognized trade credential from another Canadian province or territory (313A or Red Deal Endorsements) with 4-5 years related experience.
• CO2 commercial refrigeration system experience preferred.
• Gas Technician (G1), Gasfitter A (Class A)
• ODP Certificate – Ozone Depletion Certificate
• Valid driver's license.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
• Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
