Aviva Canada is seeking an Experienced Commercial Claims Adjuster for the Commercial - Property team. You will settle predominantly commercial property claims via telephone with a focus on quality and service. Qualifications

• 3+ years of property claims experience.
• 1+ year handling first-party commercial claims including building owner/tenant, business income, stock, cargo, builder's risk, crime and equipment.
• Customer-focused mindset with commitment to timely, fair claims service.
• CIP/FCIP and other designations; CIP pursuit for provincial licensing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand.
• Comfort dealing with commercial clients and brokers on all claim issues.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Guidewire.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
• Think critically and coordinate with stakeholders for best outcomes.
• Hard-working, self-motivated problem-solver; excellent communication.
• Licenses for claims adjusting in provinces (preferred).
• Willingness to support during high volume catastrophes (evenings/weekends).

Responsibilities

• Support claims demand through phone and text line.
• Investigate and negotiate various Commercial Property Claims per procedures.
• Confirm coverage and compile FNOL information.
• Provide in-depth commercial claims guidance to customers, peers and stakeholders.
• Ensure data accuracy and issue payments to vendors, insureds and experts.
• Review facts, policy and reports, analyze loss estimates and negotiate settlements.
• Advise customers on status and deliver prompt customer service.
• Prepare correspondence including Critical Path, Proof of Loss, and reservation of rights letters.
• Identify questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities.
• Review case law to determine liability.
• Meet Property team performance expectations and support attendance.
• Adhere to policies surrounding attendance.

The opportunity

We currently have some exciting roles for Experienced Commercial Claims Adjusters for our Commercial - Property team.

You will be responsible for claim settlement of predominately commercial property claims (90% commercial | 10% personal lines) via telephone with a key focus on quality and customer service. The successful candidate will work with premiere property vendors to quantify the claim and apply cost saving guidelines in the quantification of loss and expense without compromising the delivery of superior customer service.

What You’ll Do

• Support our claims customer demand through a phone and text line environment
• Investigate and negotiate various Commercial Property Claims in accordance with Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines.
• Responsible for confirming coverage and compiling FNOL information for incoming claims.
• Stand as an expert and provide in-depth commercial claims guidance/advice to customers, peers and other stakeholders
• Responsible for data accuracy and the issuance of payments to vendors, insureds and experts.
• Review and compile facts, policy, and technical reports, analyze estimates, value of claim and negotiate/settle claim accordingly.
• Effectively advise and counsel customers on claim status, provide prompt and exemplary customer service and while keeping related parties informed of the claims status.
• Responsible to ensure all correspondence is completed in a time efficient/effective manner including the creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss and reservation of rights letters etc...
• Responsible for recognizing questionable claims, subrogation and risk opportunities.
• Also responsible for reviewing case law to determine liability.
• Meets Property team performance expectations that are set individually and contributes to team success.
• Adheres to and supports policies surrounding attendance

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ Years of property claims experience
• Minimum of 1 Year experience handling first-party commercial claims including but limited to building owner/tenant, business income , stock, cargo, builder's risk, crime and equipment claims for a wide variety of industries
• A customer focused mindset with a strong commitment to delivering timely, fair, and professional claims service.
• CIP or FCIP and other industry designations preferred. Must be willing to pursue CIP for provincial licensing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand
• High level of comfort dealing directly with key commercial clients and brokers on all claim related issues and other assistance as required
• Computer proficiency; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Guidewire
• High level of prioritization and organization skills
• Think critically and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure you receive the best outcomes.
• You are hardworking and a self-motivated problem-solver
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces (not a requirement, but expected to apply once in role)
• Assist and support during high volume catastrophes as needed (Evenings and Weekends)

What You’ll Get

• Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000, for the most senior level $75,000 to $90,000.
