Job description

Reporting to the Supervisor, as a Commercial Plumber, Gasfitter, Technician, you will provide services on commercial projects. As an Apprentice, you will assist the Journeyperson. As a Journeyperson, you will mentor, develop, and guide Apprentices. There are also project management opportunities for those with drive!

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  1. Participating in plumbing activities at all stages, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  2. Installing, troubleshooting, and overhauling plumbing systems.
  3. Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements before starting work.
  4. Measuring and laying out reference points for installation accurately.
  5. Verifying and preparing materials needed for projects, ensuring correct type and quantity.
  6. Working safely and complying with Star Mechanical’s Safety Program and relevant safety regulations.

Working Conditions

Primarily works on-site during regular business hours (Monday to Friday), dispatched from Star Mechanical location. Work involves exposure to noise from equipment/machinery, occupational hazards, inclement weather, and dust. The physical work pace may cause some fatigue. Additional hours may be available.
