Qualifications

  • 10+ Jahre Erfahrung in der Rolle des Rechtsanwalts mit Schwerpunkt auf kommerzieller und Bau-Litigation.
  • Starke Kenntnisse der Zivilprozessordnung und effektives Aktenmanagement.

Responsibilities

  • Unterstützung von Anwälten bei der Bearbeitung von Streitfällen und Erstellung von Schriftsätzen.
  • Zusammenarbeit mit Teammitgliedern zur Mentorierung und Wissensaustausch.

Job description

Our Disputes Commercial & Construction team is recruiting for a resourceful individual with a growth mindset who can help solve for today while building for the future.

You will be a key member of a dynamic group of lawyers, law clerks, and legal support staff, providing the highest level of service to our clients, while having the opportunity to cultivate your skills as part of our successful national Disputes Commercial & Construction Group within Canada’s premier full-service law firm.

Key Responsibilities and Skills
  • Work with top-tier Disputes Commercial & Construction Group professionals to help clients navigate significant situations.
  • Assist our lawyers with matters relating to all aspects of commercial, construction, and estate litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, manage document production, participate in discovery, prepare motions, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs, costs outlines, and prepare for hearings and trials. Assist with estate applications before the Court, such as Orders for Directions, and support file management of large, complex matters.
  • Manage matters and data, including scoping and budgeting.
  • Contribute as an essential team member, committed to delivering excellent client service.
  • Collaborate with team members to mentor and share knowledge with students, associates, and junior law clerks.
Key Competencies
  • 10+ years of experience in a Law Clerk role focusing on commercial and construction litigation.
  • Experience with passing of accounts and estate administration is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • College Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks Ontario Certificate.
  • An university degree is an asset.
  • Proficiency in iManage, Case Center, ACL, Relativity, Kofax PDF, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and expertise in effective file management, seeking guidance when needed.
  • High organization and time management skills.
  • A strong work ethic, collaborative approach, and growth mindset.
