About The Role

HUB International is seeking a forward-thinking, high-performing Vice President, Technology & E&O Sales to support the continued growth of our Technology Practice across Ontario. This is a key opportunity for an insurance professional with deep expertise in the tech ecosystem and professional liability to help expand our market share in one of the fastest-evolving industries.

As part of an established national team of specialists, you’ll focus on acquiring and advising clients in the technology, SaaS, FinTech, digital health, and emerging innovation sectors. Your mandate will include building trusted relationships, structuring complex E&O and cyber liability solutions, and staying ahead of the evolving risk landscape in the digital economy.

What You’ll Do

Growth & Business Development:

  • Lead new business development efforts in the technology sector, targeting startups, scale-ups, and mature tech companies across Ontario.
  • Focus on high-value lines such as Errors & Omissions (E&O), Tech E&O, Cyber, Directors & Officers (D&O), IP infringement, and commercial general liability.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, industry networking, and referral development.
  • Collaborate with other HUB producers, practice leaders, and service teams to identify cross-sell opportunities and deliver integrated insurance solutions

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, understanding their operational models, revenue structures, and technology risks.
  • Develop bespoke insurance programs that cater to the nuanced needs of companies offering software, hardware, digital services, or data-driven platforms.
  • Educate clients on emerging exposures, including third-party liability, service disruptions, ransomware, and contractual risk transfer.

Practice Leadership & Market Engagement:

  • Represent HUB’s Technology & E&O Practice at industry conferences, accelerator programs, VC/PE events, and other innovation forums.
  • Contribute to the refinement of HUB’s offerings by sharing market intelligence, client insights, and emerging trends in the digital space.
  • Work closely with underwriters to negotiate competitive terms and innovative coverage enhancements tailored to complex tech risks

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

  • 7–10+ years of commercial insurance experience, with a strong emphasis on tech and professional liability (E&O, cyber, D&O).
  • Demonstrated success building a client base within the technology or innovation-driven industries.
  • Deep understanding of the insurance needs of software developers, platform providers, SaaS vendors, and digital service firms.
  • Strong technical knowledge of liability programs, including Tech E&O, privacy breach coverage, IP protection, and regulatory exposures.
  • Excellent communication, consultative selling, and negotiation skills.
  • A client-first mindset with the agility to adapt to fast-moving, high-growth businesses..
  • RIBO license (or willingness to obtain); CIP, CAIB, or CRM designation preferred.
