Job description

McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers offers a complete line of commercial, personal lines, life, disability, employee benefit plans and risk management services through our network of offices across Southwestern Ontario. Primary function is to float on books of business for current CAMs. Responsible for policy and claims of assigned commercial clients. The Commercial Account Manager will provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to Insureds, Commercial Account Executives and insurance companies related to their accounts. This position can be worked at any one of our branches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide service to assigned clients on renewal and throughout the policy period; handle questions and general inquiries, recommend and provide increased limits or coverage.
  • Responsible for all incoming mail regarding assigned clients.
  • Responsible for the quality and timeliness of all policy documentation processing; renewal processing to include coverage review recommendations, explanations of new or changed coverage, preparation of presentations, renewal documents and invoices for delivery by Commercial Account Executive.
  • Responsible for requesting policy changes from insurance companies, ensuring all required coverages are placed and bound.
  • Monitor renewals and issue binders as required.
  • Record and process various claims transactions and receive signatures on applications.
  • Keep all policy coverage/vehicle schedules, etc. up to date and available for reference by Commercial Account Executive or Marketing Department.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable collection efforts associated with assigned clients, adhering to corporate accounts receivable procedures.
  • Ensure all abeyance items are completed through the use of abeyance or suspense systems.
  • Provide backup for other Commercial Account Managers as required.
  • Adhere to all system procedures and insurance company regulations.
  • Other duties and special projects, as required.
Qualifications:
  • RIBO Licensed, or RIBO license eligible
  • 3-5 years Commercial lines experience
  • Excellent customer service skills; good written and oral communication skills; organized; attention to detail; ability to prioritize; team player; accuracy in recording details
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications; EPIC is an asset

Salary Range:

From $50,000 per annum
