Commercial Insurance Manager - SBU Division

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Manager to lead our Small Business Unit (SBU) Division. Located at 290 Rowntree Dairy Road, Woodbridge, ON, this role offers an exciting opportunity for those passionate about commercial insurance, leadership, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and workflows of the SBU Commercial Insurance team
  • Lead and support the team focusing on performance and client service
  • Provide coaching and development to promote growth and effectiveness
  • Review and oversee the commercial portfolio, ensuring risk quality and underwriting compliance
  • Manage relationships with insurance carriers
  • Collaborate with internal departments to maintain operational standards
  • Support complex risk placements and account management
  • Monitor team performance, workflows, and KPIs for continuous improvement
  • Guide on complex risks and placements within Small Business
  • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of Commercial Lines insurance experience
  • Previous leadership experience, including coaching and team development
  • Experience with Small Business commercial insurance
  • Commercial Lines underwriting experience (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance wording
  • Ability to manage insurer relationships effectively
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Onsite work required 5 days a week
  • CIP designation (completed or in progress)
  • RIBO license or ability to obtain
