The position


This is an opportunity to lead the launch of a new exciting Consumer Health brand and business in Canada.


Reporting to the Chief Consumer Health Officer, the Commercial Director is responsible for the go-to-market strategy and in-market execution for the Consumer Health category.


You will have P&L responsibility and overall business ownership for the Canadian market. You will develop the capabilities, teams, and operations needed for commercial entry and manage all commercial functions.


Based on the Category strategy, you will build the sales and marketing plans and metrics. You will set up partnership(s) for product distribution in Canada and design the required business infrastructure. You will also set up, oversee, and optimize operations across the entire value chain.


Responsibilities


Strategy & Business set-up


  1. Overall Business and P&L ownership for Vectura Fertin Pharma Consumer Health in Canada
  2. Build marketing and sales strategy for Canada (online & offline) and set performance metrics
  3. Channel strategy development: define and develop a multi-channel route to market strategy (DTC, B2B), based on target customer segments, market trends, and commercial goals.
  4. Distribution partnerships: establish and negotiate with key distribution partners, including third-party logistics providers, wholesalers, and retail networks.
  5. Set and manage revenue targets and manage sales performance across channels
  6. Pricing and channel margin optimization: develop pricing structures tailored to each route to market, considering channel-specific margins, consumer price sensitivity, and competition.
  7. Set and manage the commercial budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies that deliver ROI

Drive execution & Performance


  1. Sales Performance: Set strategic direction for all commercial touchpoints and set metrics to analyze, develop, and execute growth programs, insights, and opportunities
  2. Adopt Global Marketing strategy and tools into local market execution
  3. Oversee the development and execution of an Omnichannel customer experience ecosystem to ensure an integrated experience and brand building.
  4. Ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations, from procurement to distribution.
  5. Ensure effective demand and forecast planning for inventory, monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations, ensuring optimal stock levels.
  6. Oversee logistics to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
  7. Prepare regular performance reports, providing insights and recommendations to the leadership team
  8. Monitor consumer feedback and provide inputs into consumer insights and product development.
  9. Monitor market trends, competitor activity to inform pricing strategy, promotional activity, and innovation requirements
  10. Inspire people towards a common vision, form, and empower a high-performing cohesive team.

Profile

  1. Significant direct experience in the Dietary Supplement market
  2. Sales & Marketing experience at (Sr.) Director level with P&L responsibility
  3. Direct experience in Canada for Dietary supplement products, other market exposure is an advantage
  4. Solid experience in commercializing Consumer Health through E-comm, understands well the Canadian e-comm ecosystem
  5. Experience in building and leading a commercial team and setting up a business infrastructure
  6. Experience in successful launch of new products and ideally of new brands
  7. Entrepreneurial mindset used to take initiative and who favors actions over processes; experience from a start-up is preferred
