Job Title : Commercial Data Analytics Consultant (Client-Side Engagement)

Location : Client Site or Remote with occasional travel

Engagement Type : Contractual Assignment

Reporting To : Head of Business Analytics Strategy

About the Role :

Our client—a mid-sized, innovation-driven life sciences company with a global reach—is seeking a seasoned Commercial Data Analytics Lead. This role will serve as the forecasting authority embedded within the client’s commercial team, responsible for guiding strategic and operational decisions through robust forecast development, scenario planning, and market insight integration.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Forecasting Model development and Management
  • Build and maintain dynamic forecasting models across multiple therapeutic assets (pre-launch, launch, and in-line).
  • Apply epidemiology-based, patient flow, and demand-based models with high transparency and methodological rigor.
  • Translate assumptions into forecast outputs that inform supply planning, revenue projections, and investment decisions.
  • Act as the primary forecasting advisor for the client’s executive and cross-functional stakeholders (marketing, finance, medical affairs, BD).
  • Lead regular forecast review cycles and present scenario analyses to inform strategic planning and performance tracking.
  • Embed forecasting best practices within the client organization, training internal teams where appropriate.

Market Insight Synthesis

  • Integrate insights from market research, KOL input, competitive intelligence, claims data, and analogs to refine assumptions.
  • Monitor external market developments, regulatory shifts, and competitive product milestones that could impact forecast models.
  • Conduct risk and sensitivity analyses to support go / no-go, investment, and launch sequencing decisions.
  • Support business development and licensing evaluations with tailored valuation models and opportunity assessments.

Required Experience :

  • 3-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical / biotech forecasting, commercial analytics, or strategic planning.
  • Prior consulting experience or demonstrated ability to operate independently in a client-facing, high-stakes environment.
  • Expertise in Excel-based modeling; experience with advanced tools (e.g., R, Python, @Risk, Tableau) preferred.
  • Proven track record of building forecasting frameworks from scratch and embedding them within client organizations.
  • Deep understanding of product lifecycles, payer dynamics, and global launch planning.
  • Therapeutic area expertise in oncology, CNS, or rare disease is a strong advantage.
