Responsibilities

About the role : The Commercial Credit Manager is responsible for supervision, leadership, guidance, and training for designated team members. The Commercial Credit Manager will research and analyze credit risks, financial statements, assess credit history, and approve or deny extension of credit to potential consumer and commercial customers. Develops and maintains positive business relationships with dealers, customers, field sales staff, and supporting departments within GMF. Render appropriate credit decisions for moderately complex commercial financing requests.

What you will be doing :

  • Analyze, evaluate, and decide credit requests within authorized lending limits; support and review submissions by Credit Analysts, evaluate requests exceeding limits, and prepare recommendations for senior management.
  • Analyze commercial credit applications to determine risk and make prudent decisions on credit extension within established authority.
  • Analyze financial statements, collateral, debt service, as applicable to the transaction size and complexity.
  • Ensure accuracy and sound recommendations with CreditQuest routings.
  • Make recommendations for commercial Lines of Credit.
  • Respond to complaints or escalation appeals professionally and thoroughly.
  • Guide and assist subordinates in discussing and deciding on complex deals.
  • Prepare credit analysis reviews for dealers, markets, or regions to optimize results.

  • Experience with automotive leasing / captive lending.

  • Secondary School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
