Job Title: Commercial Cleaner
Location: Saint John, NB
Shift/Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
Pay Rate: $16.25 - $18.00/Hour

Assignment Information:
As a Commercial Cleaner with Advantage Personnel, you will be an essential part of our customers growing team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in various commercial settings, including offices, retail spaces, and industrial facilities!

Your primary duties will involve performing routine cleaning tasks to ensure that facilities meet health and safety standards, enhancing the overall appearance and functionality of the workspace.
In this role, you will work both independently and as part of a team, following established cleaning protocols and procedures.

Attention to detail is critical, as you will be responsible for cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and communal areas, as well as managing waste disposal and replenishing supplies. You will also be expected to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively. Your contributions will directly impact the satisfaction and comfort of employees and visitors alike. A strong commitment to quality, punctuality, and professionalism will be essential as you represent our company and uphold our reputation for excellence in service. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy maintaining clean environments, and are committed to delivering outstanding results. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning all office areas, including lobby, hallways, washrooms, locker rooms, shower facilities, fingerprint and interview rooms.
  2. Ensuring cleanliness of bathrooms, toilets, urinals, showers, and locker rooms.
  3. Disinfecting kitchen areas, including appliances, tables, etc.
  4. Restocking and replacing paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and other supplies.
  5. Dusting and wiping down surfaces like tables, counters, desks, window ledges, and more.
  6. Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors and carpets.
  7. Shampooing carpets and floor mats periodically.
  8. Cleaning window blinds and wiping down chairs in various rooms.
  9. Disinfecting door handles, light switches, and other high-touch surfaces.
  10. Spot cleaning walls, cabinets, desks, and doors.
  11. Emptying trash and replacing bags in all areas.
  12. Handling light toilet plunging and reporting major issues.
  13. Performing annual tasks such as floor stripping and regular floor buffing.
  14. Providing bio-hazard cleaning of vehicles and cells as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. Physically fit, capable of lifting up to 45 pounds (e.g., vacuum cleaner or mop bucket).
  2. Comfortable walking up and down stairs, frequently requiring cleaning.
  3. Detail-oriented with a strong sense of pride in workmanship.
  4. Reliable and maintains a professional demeanor and appearance.
  5. Team-oriented and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and common sense.
  7. Demonstrates integrity, personal awareness, sensitivity, and accountability.
  8. Must have personal transportation.
  9. Criminal record check and additional security clearance required.

Work Conditions:
This position at a police station involves keeping offices and restricted areas clean. You'll interact regularly with law enforcement personnel, follow strict security and confidentiality rules, and maintain professionalism and discretion. It includes physically demanding tasks like lifting up to 45 pounds, navigating stairs, and repetitive duties. Flexibility with early morning hours and occasional bio-hazard cleaning is necessary, along with strict adherence to safety protocols and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
