What You’ll Do
- Grow our book profitably by leveraging customer relationships, your technical skills and great judgment to quote and place new business.
- Create and maintain excellent relationships with our broker partners, providing best in class customer service.
- Underwriting and retaining our renewal base, prioritizing workflow to our service standards, and being responsible for the more complex endorsement activities in accordance with your authority levels.
- Reviewing inspections, and coaching / training more junior staff when those opportunities arise.
- Provide your feedback to improve and simplify processes, resulting in effective and efficient results, while maintaining our core values and capabilities.
- We encourage collaboration, in conjunction with various departments within our group, such as claims and business development, enabling a comprehensive approach to underwriting risk and control.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- CIP or working towards would be considered an asset
- Technical skill and sound judgment required
- Solutions oriented approach, and desire win with our customers
- Attention to detail is essential, along with the great organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within the team dynamic
