The Work

The Commercial Analyst provides exceptional sales and service support to the Commercial Account Management team. This role is responsible for supporting the Business Enterprise Solutions origination team in the preparation, execution, and fulfillment of Equitable Bank's commercial mortgage products between $500,000 and $10,000,000. The Commercial Analyst must be knowledgeable about Equitable Bank’s commercial mortgage products and processes, with a good understanding of underwriting, risk, compliance, and funding guidelines. This role supports the Commercial Regional Directors.

Sales and Service Support (70%)
  • Process transactions accurately and within specified timeframes, in accordance with company policies & procedures and applicable legislative/regulatory requirements.
  • Assess deal packages and make recommendations on potential deal structures or issues to the Regional Directors and credit teams.
  • Communicate effectively with the commercial mortgage coordinator, underwriting, and funding teams to ensure departmental efficiency.
  • Pay close attention to detail when supporting the Regional Directors: tasks include CIF and real estate searches, ROE calculations, analysis of small to mid-market commercial transactions including Debt Service calculations, BDSR and TDSR, and preparation of Letters of Intent and Loan Summaries.
  • Provide friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional customer service to brokers, partners, and direct clients, following up on documentation, identifying opportunities, and initiating qualified leads.
  • Identify and advise the Regional Directors of any potential credit risk issues.
  • Carry out other role-related delegated tasks as assigned by the Regional Directors.
Operational Effectiveness (30%)
  • Understand and adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Reporting, company policies, legal, and ethical standards.
  • Recommend workflow and administrative process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer service.
  • Organize and prepare files for submission to credit/underwriting, addressing all issues associated with each loan transaction.
  • Support the Regional Directors in their absence by answering questions, gathering information, and addressing concerns during underwriting or funding, escalating issues as needed.
  • Manage the pipeline to ensure transactions are processed promptly and efficiently, delivering superior service to brokers, partners, and clients.
  • Work closely with the Regional Directors to acquire and retain profitable broker relationships.
  • Participate in brokerage, industry, and company events to promote Equitable Bank and its products.
