Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I to work in Oyen Big Country Hospital and rural sites. The role combines laboratory and diagnostic imaging responsibilities, including specimen collection, X-ray exams, ECGs, and result reporting.

As a CLXT I, you will be a member of an interdisciplinary team where you will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying policies to perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging areas. You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs, and reporting results, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required. With a customer service focused approach and your strong coordination, organization, and communication skills, you build productive and respectful customer relations and take responsibility for customer satisfaction. You have an ability to influence change by encouraging others, building positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships.
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technology (CLXT).Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Excellent phlebotomy skills, strong technical skills and adaptability are imperative in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Connect Care as well as recent phlebotomy and bench experience are an asset.
