A leading healthcare facility is seeking a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I to perform laboratory and imaging procedures at rural sites. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology and possess strong communication and analytic skills. Responsibilities include patient preparation, specimen collection, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Recent relevant experience as a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist performing procedures in a core laboratory including hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen collection, preparation and general diagnostic imaging, including hospital affiliated training programs. Recent cardiology experience including ECG and Holter Monitor. Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent public relation and a service-oriented manner are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients / clients, families, staff, inter-disciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical / methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required. Candidate must be well organized and flexible. Current phlebotomy experience including venipuncture, micropuncture, blood culture and Type and Screen on all ages and patient types. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
Preferred Qualifications :
Recent and Relevant Experience with Connect Care Epic and Wellsky. Recent DR experience. Familiar with DxH 600, ACL Elite Pro, Ortho Vitros XT 3400, Clinitek Advantus, Access 2. Recent experience with MUSE, Cardioday, PACS, Unity Real Time.
