As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter‑professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
As part of a close‑knit interdisciplinary team, you will bring strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to your role. You will build positive and respectful working relationships with patients, families, colleagues and other healthcare professionals while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Working across both Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging requires versatility, sound judgement and effective time management. You will be comfortable balancing priorities as you collect specimens, perform laboratory testing and ECGs, report results, and perform xray examinations while maintain accuracy and attention to detail.You will be adaptable and confident in responding to changing priorities and unexpected demands, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.This position requires the flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and participate in the on‑call rotation. When on call, you must be able to respond to the Elk Point Healthcare Center within 30 minutes.
Previous laboratory experience with Ortho Chemistry analyzers, ACL Elite Pro and Sysmex Hematology analyzers. Diagnostic Imaging experience with the RADspeed PRO DR. Experience with EPIC LIS. Current BLS certification. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous experience is considered an asset but not required.
