Combined Laboratory / X-Ray Technologist I

This night-focused CLXT position delivers quality radiography services while maintaining patient safety, accuracy, and compassionate care in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment.This role offers opportunities to develop technical expertise, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to a dynamic diagnostic imaging environment.PLEASE NOTE: This position will be supporting Diagnostic Imaging, no lab services.

Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, while also being able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and other departments, and consistently displays professionalism, tact, and composure under pressure while adhering to radiation safety, infection control, and patient care standards.Given that this position involves independent night shifts, strong problem-solving skills, sound decision-making, and the ability to work independently are essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:

Acute care hospital experience is an asset.
