Northern Health in Dease Lake, BC, is seeking a registered Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technologist to join the Laboratory & Radiology department, bringing knowledge and strong work ethic.

You will perform routine lab, X-Ray and ECG procedures, maintain equipment, and troubleshoot issues under supervision, with focus on patient care and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technology program and eligibility for registration.
• One year of general experience in both laboratory and diagnostic imaging fields or equivalent.
• Post graduate certificates in transfusion medicine and/or microbiology are a plus.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Are you a registered Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technologist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Laboratory & Radiology department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Combined Laboratory/X-Ray Technologist performs a variety of routine laboratory, X-Ray and ECG procedures in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and standards as defined by respective service and accrediting bodies. Performs routine and preventative maintenance of equipment and trouble shoots equipment problems as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technology program. Eligible for registration with a provincial licensing body.
• One year of general experience in both laboratory and diagnostic imaging fields or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• May hold post graduate certificate in transfusion medicine techniques and/or post graduate certificate in microbiology techniques.

• Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Meditech and Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability in the use of e-mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
