Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I to work in Oyen Big Country Hospital and rural sites. The role combines laboratory and diagnostic imaging responsibilities, including specimen collection, X-ray exams, ECGs, and result reporting.

The successful candidate will hold a CLXT diploma with ACCLXT registration eligibility, demonstrate teamwork, strong communication, phlebotomy skills and adaptability; Connect Care proficiency is an asset.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with ACCLXT.
• Strong teamwork and excellent communication skills.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, strong technical skills and adaptability.
• Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Connect Care; bench experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging, including collecting/analyzing specimens, X-ray exams, ECGs and reporting results.
• Prepare patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Work as part of an inter-professional team, ensuring patient care and safety in rural sites.
