Job summary

eBrandon is seeking an experienced Combine operator for the upcoming harvest season. You'll operate John Deere X9 combines with GPS, perform daily maintenance, and help harvest Rye, Wheat, Canola, and Corn across Wellwood, Shilo, and Rivers.

The role requires long hours and weekends during harvest, with safety as a priority. There is potential for full-time year-round work; wages depend on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience operating harvest equipment along with other various farm machinery.
• GPS experience (John Deere is an asset).
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Attention to detail and safety.
• Able to work independently and alongside others.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 1 would be an asset).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance (oil check, inspect belts, bearings, tires, headers).
• Be able to do any minor repairs as needed.
• Monitor and maintain grain quality, moisture and yield throughout the day.
• Work long hours and weekends during harvest.
• Transport equipment safely while towing headers as needed.
• Communicate and assist with other co-workers on a daily basis.
• Keeping a clean cab and windows.

Job description

We run John Deere X9 (gen5 screens) combines with gps and machine sync with the grain carts.

Duties include:

• Perform daily maintenance (oil check, inspect belts, bearings, tires, headers)
• Be able to do any minor repairs as needed
• Monitor and maintain grain quality, moisture and yield throughout the day
• Work long hours and weekends during harvest
• Transport equipment safely while towing headers as needed
• Communicate and assist with other co-workers on a daily basis
• Keeping a clean cab and windows

We have a Full Service Campground that is just a walk from our main shop yard at Wellwood.

Our season starts with Rye around the 2nd week of August and carries on with wheat and canola throughout august and September. Corn begins mid October and runs for 3 weeks. Wages will be based on experience.

There is an opportunity to become full time with year round work.
