Purpose of Role : Provide expertise in Land Based Test Capability (LBTC) and Facility (LBTF), as well as Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services in support of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). Offer multi-disciplinary engineering and technical services related to the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Naval Combat System. Weir Marine Engineering supports the RCD Project Management Office (PMO) within the Department of National Defence (DND) Office at the Bluenose building in Dartmouth, NS. The LBTC / LBTF Specialist will review, develop, and integrate mechanical systems, along with conducting IV&V activities in support of the RCD LBTC Test Program, primarily at the LBTF in Hartlen Point, NS.
The candidate may also support other project areas as required, including Integrated Test Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Performance Modelling and Simulation (M&S), and Synthetic Environment Support activities.
