Columbia Icefield Jasper Grounds & Staff Facilities Worker

Pursuit Collection, Jasper, AB — $20 an hour • Seasonal, Full-time

Overview

As a grounds/recycling & staff residence facilities worker, you will help create an unforgettable guest experience by ensuring a consistently clean and well-maintained facility. The facility worker should take pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment while prioritizing safety.

Responsibilities
  • Daily upkeep of the staff residence building, common room, parking lot, and surrounding grounds, including cleaning and removal of trash and hazards.
  • Maintain outdoor walkways and the staff residence deck, including snow removal, hazard/garbage removal, and applying salt-malt to prevent ice buildup.
  • Keep hallways and fire exits of the Staff Residence clear of obstructions (examples: shoes, bikes, equipment).
  • Vacuum and wash floors of staff residence hallways and stairwells; conduct laundry and gym maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure fire safety equipment at Staff Residence is in-date, clearly marked, accessible, and hazard-free.
  • Regularly inspect areas and report maintenance work orders to the Building Maintenance team.
  • Grounds/outdoor facilities: maintain cleanliness of the icefield grounds, trash pickup, maintain garbage receptacles, tidy outdoor washrooms, ensure all access areas are clearly marked and hazard-free.
  • Support spill clean-ups (staff camp, ice, transfer bays, center, Skywalk) and report safety/maintenance issues to Safety Services Coordinator.
  • Recycling: sort and bundle cardboard; sort and prepare all recycling; transport recycling to appropriate centers in Jasper (weekly).
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; comply with organization grooming standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications
  • Organization and time management skills; a passion for making a difference for guests and employees.
  • Class 5 driver’s license (unrestricted) required.
  • Mature, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated; able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision; internally motivated with high energy; takes initiative and follows through on tasks.
  • High attention to detail; experience in custodial roles or tourism/hospitality is an asset.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods in indoor/outdoor environments; prepared for all-season weather (snow, rain, wind, hail).
  • Meet grooming and appearance standards; consent to a criminal record check.
  • First-Aid or higher is an asset.

Beautiful location in the Canadian Rockies; teamwork and collaboration with a global team. Physical duties include walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. Roles may evolve with team and company needs.
